The beginning of November marks an important time of the year for many families in our communities. Day of the Dead, also known as Dia de los Muertos is a Mexican holiday that takes place on the first two days of November. This multi-day celebration involves family and friends gathering to pay their respect to remember and honor friends and family members who have passed away. Dia de los Muertos represents a time dedicated to honoring our loved ones by celebrating their life. There are many traditions including the making of an altar or shrine, making special foods and leaving gifts for your loved one.
