National Donate Life Month

Make A Splash for National Donate Life!

National Donate Life Month is celebrated each April to recognize and honor the generosity of those who have saved lives by becoming organ, eye, and tissue donors. This month-long observance is also an opportunity to encourage more Americans to register as organ, eye, and tissue donors. In honoring the incredible Gift of Life of the selfless donors, we also celebrate the families and friends of donors who have supported their loved one’s decision to donate. While thousands receive the Gift of Life each year through transplantation, the number of people needing life-saving organs remains staggeringly high. This National Donate Life Month, we ask you to join this interconnected life-sustaining community by registering as an organ, eye, and tissue donor, becoming educated about living donation, and championing the Donate Life cause.

For National Donate Life Month (NDLM) 2023, Donate Life America was inspired by the natural world of a pond coming to life in the spring. Frogs (and toads!) signify healing and renewal, and water lilies represent hope. The lily pads we see on the surface of a pond are part of a much larger plant rooted below the water. The water lily plant reminds us of the support and collaboration needed for hope to bloom.

We invite you to explore, utilize and share these National Donate Life Month materials within your communities. Thank you for joining Donor Network West and Donate Life America in our efforts to save and heal more lives.
