Donor Family Community Facebook Group

Donor Network West’s Donor Family Community Group is a closed Facebook group intended to provide a private forum for donor family members to connect with and support one another along their grieving and healing journey. The group is moderated by Donor Network West’s Donor Family Aftercare Advocates. However, members can participate 24/7.

As a member of this closed group, you will have the opportunity to introduce yourself and your loved one. Your personal stories can be healing and helpful to other families who have had a loved one become a donor. Grief manifests in so many different ways for all of us; this group will allow you to learn about your own grief experience and to share it with others. You will be able to experience compassion from others with a similar experience, post your own feelings, ask questions or be silently present.

Donors and their families make generous decisions that save and heal the lives of recipients every single day and inspire their communities to donate life.

We thank you for your generosity; the gifts that you and your loved ones have given impact the lives of those who receive them in a tremendous way, and give hope to the thousands who are still waiting.

At Donor Network West, we aim to provide the highest level of service and support to our donor families. In the Aftercare program, we keep in touch with you for at least one year after the passing of your loved one. We offer information on the donation outcome, a biannual grief-focused newsletter, memory cards, the opportunity to make a quilt square, and a Donor Family Ceremony honoring the donors and their families. Additionally, we facilitate correspondence between you and the recipients and provide referrals for grief support. This can be a very difficult time, and we are here to assist you every step of the way.

For more information about the services we provide, please review our Donor Family Resource Guide.
